BidTheatre DSP comes with a screenshot agent that automatically captures screenshots of your campaign ads running.

How do I activate the screenshot agent?

  1. Contact your account manager to activate the agent on your account.

  2. Toggle "Capture Screenshots" in the Setup / Settings tab of the campaign.

Where can I find the screenshots taken?

Screenshots are viewable in the Overview / Screenshots tab of the campaign.

How does it work?

The agent will visit the top 5 sites (in decreasing order of impressions) of the campaign being captured. If a campaign ad is seen, the site will be captured. The agent will attempt to find new screenshots until 5 screenshots are taken.

In order to allow ads to pass audit and get a representative distribution of the biggest sites, the agent will start 2 days into the campaign.

Does it capture mobile screenshots?

If the top format of a given site has width 320 pixels, the agent will produce a mobile screenshot.

Can I request a screenshot from a specific URL?

Yes, use the Requested Screenshots section to specify a domain (and optionally a path) to screenshot. 5 attempts will be made to capture. Note that the campaign must have seen previous impressions from the requested domain.

Please Note

Allow for at least 2-3 days to pass for a screenshot to be collected. There are no guarantees that the screenshot agent will succeed in finding screenshots.

Some screenshots may appear as broken. Manual inspection is always recommended. Please let us know at support@bidtheatre.com if specific domains are troublesome to capture and we will investigate.

Known limitations

  • The agent is limited to web and mobile display. It does not capture video, audio or DOOH campaigns.

  • The agent will capture up to 10 000 pixels of the site.

  • The agent will automatically try to dismiss cookie banners, but may fail.
