Overview

When you add a deal to the platform, it is set by default to auto-sync to a media list. This feature makes it easy to automatically generate a media list containing all the inventory included in the deal. However, there may be scenarios where you don't want all the deal's inventory to sync into a media list automatically. This article will guide you through the details of this feature and when it might be useful to turn it off.

Auto Sync to Media List

When the Auto Sync to Media List box is checked (enabled by default), the entire inventory of the deal is automatically synced to a newly created media list. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The media list is created automatically under the Account Media List tab, accessible via Supply > Media List.

  • The name of this media list will be the same as the deal name.

  • This feature saves time and ensures that the entire deal’s inventory is included in one comprehensive list.

When to use Auto Sync:

  • You plan to use the entire inventory included in the deal without manual adjustments.

  • You intend to use all the inventory from the deal but plan to refine the targeting using campaign-level controls, such as geo-targeting, filters, or exclusion media lists.

No Auto Sync - Leaving the Box Unchecked

If you uncheck the Auto Sync to Media List box, no inventory will be automatically synced to a media list. This option allows you to first create a custom media list with selected inventory and then link the deal to this list, enabling you to still take advantage of the deal's benefits without including its entire inventory.

When to consider turning off Auto Sync:

  • You want to target specific inventory that requires deals but do not want to include all inventory from the deal in a media list.

  • For example, when you want to create a tailored media list with only selected screens or sites instead of using the entire deal content.


If you anticipate using a deal's inventory in both ways (with and without auto-sync), you can add the deal to the system twice: once with the Auto Sync to Media List box checked and once without it. We recommend giving the non-synced version a clear and distinct name to easily differentiate between the two.

How to Add a Deal to an Existing Media List

If you want to add a deal to an already existing media list, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Supply > Media List and search for the media list you want to update.

  2. Once you've found the desired media list, click on the Deals section.

  3. Click Add Deals and select the deal you wish to link to the media list:

Please note:

  • If the deal has Auto Sync to Media List enabled, the entire inventory from the deal will be automatically added to the media list.

  • If the deal does not have auto-sync enabled, no inventory will be transferred automatically. Instead, the deal will only unlock its associated inventory or benefits for the specific items you manually add to the list.
