How to Capture Screenshots for a Campaign

Follow these steps to capture screenshots for a display campaign, adjust your user agent if needed, and get the details of where and how the campaign is running.

Step 1: Find Campaign Information

  1. Open the Campaign: Locate the campaign ID (top right corner).

  2. View Campaign Sites: Go to Sites to see where the campaign ads are displayed.

Step 2: Browser-Specific Setup

A. Google Chrome

Initial Setup (First Time Only)

  1. Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect.

  2. In the Developer Tools window, click the three dots (top right corner of Dev Tools) and choose Show console drawer.

  3. In the Console drawer, click the three dots next to Console and select Network conditions.

Each Time You Take a Screenshot

  1. Right-click and choose Inspect.

  2. In Network conditions > User agent, uncheck Select automatically.

  3. At the end of the "Mozilla…" string, add a space and type ASXACT + Campaign ID (e.g., ASXACT93131).

  4. Now, browse the site until the ad appears. If it doesn’t, try refreshing or switch to a different site.

  5. Once the ad appears, close the Developer Tools.

Example User Agent with Campaign ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/85.0.4183.121 Safari/537.36 ASXACT93131

B. Safari

Initial Setup (First Time Only)

  1. Press Cmd + Comma to open Safari Preferences.

  2. Go to Advanced and check Show Develop menu in menu bar.

Each Time You Take a Screenshot

  1. Go to Develop in the menu bar, hover over User Agent, and select Other…

  2. Add a space at the end and type ASXACT + Campaign ID (e.g., ASXACT12321).

  3. Browse the campaign site until the ad appears. Refresh or switch sites if needed.

Example User Agent with Campaign ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_5) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.1.1 Safari/605.1.15 ASXACT12321

Step 3: Take a Screenshot

Browse the campaign site until the ad appears, then capture your screenshot.

Screenshot Shortcuts

  • Mac: Press Shift + Cmd + 4 to select the area you want to capture.

  • Windows: Use Gyazo or another screenshot tool.

Important Tips

  • Audit Status: Confirm that the ad is audited (Campaign Setup > Ad Creatives > hover over audit icon).

  • Relevant Sites: Check if there are specific sites or ad formats (Campaign > Sites; Campaign > Performance).

  • Local or Niche Relevance: For local campaigns, visit relevant local sites (e.g., NVP.se for Nacka) or prioritize fashion sites for fashion campaigns.

  • Animated Ads: Capture multiple frames showing different parts of the animation, like the logo, main message, etc.

For Video Campaigns

This is the same process, but you may need to watch other ads before the one you need appears.

Mobile Format Screenshots
To simulate mobile, either resize the browser window or use Toggle Device Toolbar in Chrome. You may also need to set the User Agent to a mobile option (e.g., “Chrome - iPhone”) and add the campaign ID as before.
